The frustrations of a mentor

He’s never on time.

He never seems to take to my instructions.

He always has a different opinion.

He doesn’t really listen when I’m speaking.

He’s asking too much from me.

He wants me to replace the father/mother he never had and I’m not ready to baby-sit.

He’s too childish and slow to learn.

He has no vision about his future.

He has too many character issues.

Thank you for accepting to mentor the future, but don’t let that kill you. You need to sit him down and explain to him what you expect if you never did so before the relationship started. If you did and he still puts up such behavior, remind him about the terms of the contract and “draw a line.”
